That is a lie. In fact, I quoted
in this thread where people in hockey have described Mitchell as a model teammate and a model citizen.

First of all, it’s not third party hearsay, it’s court and school record. Mitchell Miller was chastised by the magistrate for clearly showing no remorse in the case.

That does not give you any grounds to allege that he has never shown remorse since. That is the part that is hearsay.

I can see that you like to delete parts of people’s posts in your quotes and take them out of context.

I quote the parts I am specifically replying to. People on the Internet are encouraged not to quote long posts and clutter up forums with huge walls of text when a little editing will save the trouble.
Everyone can read what you said in its entirety if they choose. I quote selectively, not to distort what you said, but to draw attention to the particular bits that I am addressing. This is standard procedure on the Internet (and in print, too). If you have a problem with it, well, as they say, that's not a ‘me’ problem, that's a ‘you’ problem.

But I urge you to go back through my posts and show where I asked for “revenge” as you put it. I did not.

There are two clear sides in this discussion. You have chosen a side which includes people who say Mitchell should be banished from hockey for life, and at least one who says he should be in prison. I am addressing the argument made by the side that you choose to support. If you disagree with your side on some point or other, let's hear it.

I am merely stating that actions have consequences and if you refuse to actually believe that your actions are hurtful to others and only show “remorse” when it affects you, then you should continue to bear the consequences of your actions.

By that standard, almost no criminal should ever be released from prison. They didn't show remorse until they were faced with the prospect of serving time, so after that, nothing they ever do or say can possibly matter. Right?
Quote:
Expecting that people face those consequences is not asking for revenge,

Mitchell has already faced those consequences for years. You want the consequences to continue forever because you do not believe he is capable of remorse. And by your own logic, nothing he ever does or says now can change your mind, because it is too late.

nor is it so that I can “feel virtuous”. But by all means, continue to attack my character if it makes you feel like it justifies your beliefs.

I'm not attacking your character to justify my beliefs – unlike a couple of posters who have attacked my character in this thread. I'm saying that your position in and of itself reveals an ugly aspect of your character. That's there whether I talk about it or not, but I think it's something that needs to be discussed. Far too many people in this world think there is something virtuous about things like Twitter mobs. There isn't.
