It is not that playing on the road is in itself somehow easier, it is just a lot less distracting. The Flames have literally not left Alberta since the start of training camp, way back in mid-September. That is an absolute eternity in hockey terms, and then to have played only nine games in that time is ridiculous. The reason people think the road will help is because it should get them into a routine, which looks like it is badly needed. Through the first five games the team looked fantastic, and now looks to be getting stale. A bunch of games on the road seems like it could help a lot.

They sure looked like they had the same identity as last year through the first several games. I am not worried that they will get it back.
