I disagree. Doesn't have to be a billionaire from Ottawa although there are some seriously wealthy folks there from tech.

It's probably going to be a more modern cap table similar to the Warriors. I can see a group of wealthy Canadians that may not all be in Canada or private equity. Or a combo. And I can think of one fellow off the top of my head based here that could write the cheque himself or would happily be part of a consortium.

Separately but a bit related, back when the sens were a basket case in the 90's, I was involved in a potential sale to a fund that was going to use the dire financials as an accelerated tax write-off. There was lots of interest.

Add in the fact Bettman hates moving teams.
