The Blocks are good. And Troutman is right about Palomino. Is Bookers coming back? I keep seeing updates on social every few months that they’re still looking for a place. It was good.
I do think home made is obviously best, but I don’t know what people are expecting out of a BBQ joint. I’ve been to some good BBQ spots in the southern US and I think ours compare just fine. The only magic places are those limited-run “open til we’re out” spots, which we don’t really have, but are rare anyway.
Though tbf I haven’t been to Big T’s in years, so my opinion might be out of date on that one.
