Ovechkin, Malkin, Letang, Suter are the only 35+ contracts active that were for 3+ years.
Guys like Pavelski, Krejci, Bergeron, Statsny, Perry, Parise are all taking one year contracts.
I guess somebody could offer him like 3 years at $1.2M or something but to me he's reached that 1 year contract stage of his career.

I never said give him a 3 year deal, just that he could probably get better than people think on the open market. 1-2 years around league min is what I would personally do
Flames would have given Bergeron a 4 or 5 year deal if we are being honest, other teams would have done the same
