As one of the trick or treaters parents my highlights were:
Very first house we hit offered me the little Bailey's single serving bottles for the parents. As a parent who wasn't expecting anything other than following my kid around tonight this kind of blew me away.
At one of the last houses we weren't sure if there was a light on at first but seemed sufficiently decorated so sent our 4 year old up. I stayed close enough to see it's Jason just sitting in a chair by dimly lit door. Little guy sees the dude and bravely says trick or treat a few times but Jason just sits there and finally points at candy bucket. I had to shout to take a candy he was so transfixed. Last year we encountered another house with a werewolf that completely stayed in character for our visit.
Kudos to the houses with full candy bars and those other houses that keep Halloween spooky. It has to be one of my favourite celebrations.
