Soup - Numbers don't support it but he has been good, not great, which is what we expected.
Stew - Numbers are off the charts and he has had 2 excellent games and a good game (Loss to Buffalo).

Neither goalie is letting in the blooper at an unexpected time like Smith or Koskinen and both goalies have made key saves at critical times when we have needed it.

Who do you start versus the inbred heathen horde down south Saturday night?

I go with Campbell, he will want to show he is the guy and the players will want to badly get him the win as they let him down with their poor play vs Calgary in the 1st period 2 weeks ago in Edmonton.

Campbell has not been what I expected. Makes some big saves but hasn’t been close to a 5 mill goalie. Terrible rebound control.

Skinner has looked unreal though.

I think Campbell bounces back and is still the definite starter.

Hopefully Calgary has this mindset as well and stops hiding Markstrom from us

I've never watched an Oil game in enemy territory and I'm debating to make the 5 hour one way trip to finally make it happen. It is one thing going to see your team in a nice modern barn with your own fans. Part of me doesn't want to drive all the way there to sit in the saddle dump arena and have the issue of possibly being taken out by falling concrete.

Early days but both have their appeal…Soup is just marinating a bit longer ( new systems, sometimes sketchy dzone play, and finding a comfort level).
To me, Soup reminds me of Grant Fuhr in the sense that stats didn’t mean much except the Ws….make the saves that win.
Skinner is showing technical brilliance and a calm/controlled demeanour when things get hairy. Most unusual for a young goalie.

Its a Saturday night so there will be a lot of cringe factor around the game. Don't expect to able to wear the Oilers jersey not have Flames fans asshats come at you. They will. You'd think it would be OK, but it tends not to be. Its like drunk city on a Saturday night. Your worries won't be concrete falling on your head.

tbh I wouldn't bother. Take the chance for playoffs or late season but wouldn't risk Calgary idiocy for an October game.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but when we beat the Flames I’m personally happy, but I rarely, if ever gloat. Yet Flames fans I know NEED to brag when they win. Small man complex? Middle child complex? Or just a bunch of obnoxious city Cowboys, who watch the Stampede once a year and think because they’re current in Yellowstone that they all of a sudden are ten feet tall and bulletproof?

Must win for my sanity.

God bless the NHL for being so bad at marketing it’s own product. Oilers and Flames only play 3 times this year and they burn 2 of those games off in the first 10 games of the season.

The fact we don’t play the flames in the final 4 months of the season is so dumb.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but based off the last BoA, I have more confidence in Skinner being in net tonight than Campbell.

Especially based off the rebound control which the Lames will capitalize on in front of the net more than Chicago did.

I’m alway concerned about this teams ability to start strong. Sutter has his team conditioned and bag skating. This will be a good indicator of which team is better prepared early on to have a strong season. Let’s go oilers.
