Good lord, no. Markstrom is a professional athlete—one of the best at his position playing at the highest possible level. Nothing from this game is going to "hang over him for months."
And there is no gamble, here either. He is the Flames's undisputed starting goalie, and there is NO DOUBT AT ALL who will be starting that first playoff game v. the Oilers, if it even happens.
Plain and simply: it is Markstrom's net, and he needs to own it. The only way to do that is to play him with no hint of hesitation.
