Thanks! Yeah, turned out it was a blood clot that had travelled up into my lung. Originally it started out as this incredibly sharp pain that would flare up around my right hip/back of my rib cage whenever I laid down - definitely the worst physical pain I’ve felt in my life and I couldn’t lie down without screaming. Went to the emergency room and after having blood work and remaining there all night, they still didn’t know what was wrong with me and sent me home with pain killers and told me to monitor it closely.
Next night after coming home, I started to cough blood and luckily the same Emergency Room doctor was available to talk on the phone. He encouraged me to come in immediately. Ran a CT scan on me, where they found the clot.
It was tough to deal with mentally for the first couple of weeks because I am young and have always been healthy. But going on a lot of walks, getting exercise, and getting excited for Flames games helped get me back to normal. I have to take blood thinners twice a day now for the rest of my life since there was no direct cause found (hadn’t travelled or got injured recently) but other than that life feels normal like it was before the PE happened.
