Reading on the Reddit thread about it, it sounds like a lot of people who voted in favour only did so because a strike longer than a month would mean not being able to pay rent or food insecurity.

Extra hard to go on strike while in the midst of dramatic rent and food inflation. Weren't they striking for pay increases to match inflation?
