However, to say he was being considerate is ridiculous. He was looking out for #1 all along. He had a great season under Sutter and realized he was never getting a bigger pay day than now. He has a very short list of teams he would go to. Tkachuk was taking care of himself and didn't care what happened to the Flames sinking ship.
Treliving was the one who somehow turned this brutal hand into a royal flush. Tkachuk doesn't deserve any credit for helping the Flames.

Chucky could have signed is 1 year QO without telling the team about his plans to walk in FA next summer. That would have been far worse for the Flames. Instead, Chucky was honest and upfront with the team about his long term plans. To me, that shows far more maturity than what Johnny did.
