Shows I've intentionally given up on -
Lost - watched thinking it was gonna be a Robinson Crusoe survivor type show, and then some weird stuff started happening and I gave up
The Walking Dead - Watched the first season, never bothered with anything after that
Mr. Robot - liked the first season, started the second and the gave up.
Westworld - I haven't officially given up yet, but haven't watched the new season yet and debating whether to or not. The first season was excellent, and the last two dull.
Shows I enjoyed but took a break, and just never made it back to -
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt -
Orange is the New Black - really liked both of the above, but just ended up never returning to it
House of Cards - Trump was elected and things became far more outrageous in real life than the actual show
Fargo - been meaning to get around to the non-Calgary season but haven't yet
Peaky Blinders - keep meaning to get back to it but it's been a few years now
Someone mentioned The Simpsons above. Surely that's a show we've all long given up on?
TBH I've become increasingly tired of this long form story telling and miss the days of say The X-Files where most episodes were standalone with a bit of mythology added in here and there. Most shows now seem stretched out to fill contractual obligations rather than to the service of the story. Most of the time I can't justify starting a 10 hour show which may end up having multiple seasons, unless it's something I'm really interested in.
