The PA thing is weird as it's not a Heat or Flames thing, it's a North American sport thing now a days. I've never heard anyone say they like it as loud as it as sporing venues, but I've heard many upon many point it out as the biggest or only detriment to a sports night out, especially the complete inability to speak to one and other.
It's stunning that there's people that determine that new standard 85-95 decibal level is perfect for sports entertainment when music teachers and most blue collar industry companies consider it important to wear hearing protection at these levels.
EDIT: Stockton Heat Prez; Can you speak to the decibel level that you guys (and most sports venues now) use relative to the fact that hearing protection is recommended for anything over 85 decibels? Seems insane to me that sports venues are literally contributing to hearing issues/loss.
