Such a feelgood way to start the season, and the new-look Flames made a very promising debut. Something about the way the team played just gave me very positive vibes. Obviously there's still work to do, I think the lines will likely need some work, chemistry is not all there yet, and we could use a winger with some more offensive skill on the 3rd line to make use of the potential offensive depth we could have there with Backlund.
Kadri, Weegar and Huberdeau were all as good as advertised, which is saying a lot
It's so unusual for a team to change their top guys all of a sudden like this, and I'm sure it'll take quite a number of games before my brain stops looking for Gaudreau darting around the ice. It feels weird, but a good kind of weird.
It feels like an all new era of Flames hockey suddenly, and I'm all for it.
