Yes, this did start with a Seiko 5 for me. My 15-year-old son uses it as his daily driver now and it looks super cool on him, so it's his now.

My daughter (16) daily wears a white G-Shock that's huge on her skinny wrist, but it looks super cool IMO. I don't think she's taken it off since I bought it for her in June.
Whimsical for funsies? What type of feature in a watch would convey that to you?

Hilariously, I discovered that Seiko literally has a whimiscal wall clock. It's really fricken neat.
