Warrener isn’t a fan, he’s an alumnus. He was 0/3 in the finals. He wants to see the team win it all, and he knows how hard it is to do that without a top-3 pick.
Usually, they don’t trade you those for Matt Tkachuk, but this year, they did.
Now, Calgary has four top-10 picks on the roster - Huberdeau (3) Lindholm (5) Kadri (7) Hanifin (5).
Compare that to the 2012 Kings, who only had one - Kopitar/Carter (11), Richards (24) Doughty (2) Brown (13).
Now, LA did have 3rd overall pick Jack Johnson (drafted by Carolina, traded for Jeff Carter) and 5th overall pick Brayden Schenn (traded for Mike Richards).
