I'm not an expert on this, but I generally go by the rule of thumb that if I'm looking for something that combines 2 products, I'll go with the company that has more history making the more important bit.
For a smart watch, you're likely more interested in the smart bit.
So I would go with the tech company that is packaging their stuff into a watch, rather than a watch company that is getting into tech.
