I've been going through the same exercise for Christmas and it is brutal. I finally decided to just cash in some Bonvoy points on the new Marriott hotel in Mazatlan. Everything seemed ridiculously priced. We are also going to Vancouver next weekend and I don't know if there some big event happening but the availability is really weak and the prices are sky high. Marriott Pinnacle Downtown is $3,500 per night while the JW is $5,500.
