I'm also the only person in my family that reliably answers the phone when it rings, so there is merit to having an audible alert. I think my kids believe phones are for outgoing calls only.

That's why I got a smart watch. I can feel the vibration on my wrist. I use it for the vibration notification for communications and activity tracker. I basically disable all other notifications on it.
