I'm just thinking that it's bad optics. If people thought she didn't earn her spot on the team they probably won't buy that she's the most qualified to run the organization.
I don't deny at all that she's had an amazing career and has lots to offer. But I think Hockey Canada needs a facelift. Wickenheiser isn't it. I think she's doing more good for the female game as AGM with the Leafs, anyway.
