She also took a ton of heat (for the same reasons) when she played CIS with the Dinos in her mid-30's. CIS is a way bigger deal for the female game than it is for the men's, so I can understand that.

Yeah I remember all of that. I’m not sure I see the connection with Hayley being selfish in her playing career and how that would impact her ability to help lead an organization like HC. She may not have a business background but she’s very intelligent, became a medical doctor after her playing career and has the lived experience of being a woman’s hockey player.
I wouldn’t discount someone like that to have a positive impact from the top down.
