Yes, they have a 23 man roster currently, that is $1.6M over. They need to remove 2 bodies (Shore and Benson?) and they would be a few dollars under, with a 21 man roster.

The problem with that strategy is that they will have ZERO wiggle room for injuries. They will have either 12 forwards and 7 D, or 13 forwards and 6 D on the roster. So if someone gets banged up, but isn't out long enough for LTIR, they are running with a depleted roster. Not that anyone would even notice, as the 4th line will play 5 minutes a night anyway.
