I didn’t take FormerPres’s posts as any more personal than you assuming Cecil’s emotional state or how grounded in the topic they were, for what it’s worth.
Logically, if that’s how we want to measure things, businesses exist to make money, therefore the most meaningful way to show appreciation for a business is to give it money (buying merch, tickets, whatever). The least logical way to show appreciation is hard to measure, but posting on an unofficial (unaffiliated) message board to the members of that board where no evidence of ownership being members exists… HAS to be in the running.
Happy to see how “more” logic supports some middle position, though.

I stated my opinion pretty clearly, wasn't avoiding either side.
I said I "respected" those that want no public money in buildings, but said that I personally see recent history as a base to work out a fair deal.
Also said I'm happy they spend to the cap but wouldn't see the need to thank them for it.
Additionally don't see the need of taking a "cringy" post and attacking the idea of people with wealth as an appropriate response.
You don't have to agree with any of that. You can think I'm illogical.
Don't have to think that post was personal either! I may choose to see it differently.
