Hockey seems to be a strangely ambi-dexterous sport in which your dominant handedness doesn’t necessarily factor in your hockey handedness. In general I think if you are using your dominant hand as your bottom hand, you are a more powerful shooter, and using your dominant hand on the top makes you a better puck handler. Generalities.
I’m right handed hockey, golf, baseball, writing, lacrosse, etc.
But because of this I wanted to be “left handed” at goalie, guitar and pool (which holds the thing the same way as a right handed hockey stick). My dad pointed out as a kid that it was wierd catching with my left hand in baseball but right hand in goalie, so I swapped (although I could play either way probably). My guitar teacher swapped me since I was just learning and I’m glad he did. I didn’t know I was “left handed” at pool until my dad pointed it out in my twenties.
