Time will tell how the Huberdeau, Kadri, and Weegar contracts turn out but I can't fault a GM for adding what appears to be an excellent threesome of players to offset the loss of the two best forwards on the team. Hopefully it pays off in the next four seasons so when the contracts maybe don't look so good we can look back and say it was worth it.

Given the economics of the league and the cap due to climb, are they really going to look that bad? Players like Weegar, Kadri and Huberdeau will likely all be making $1-2M more per year than they are on these deals very soon.
Age may be a factor with these deals, but given the talent level and skill, I doubt they turn into useless versions of themselves in the next 5 seasons.
