And here's the thing...I'm not sure HC's actions prior to these things coming to light were necessarily horrendous/inexcusable (though they probably are). What I am 100% sure of is that their response to this crisis demonstrates unfathomable incompetence that is absolutely inexcusable.
I agree 100% but as I said most of the kids at that level arrive as finished personalities. They are just trying to cover HC in everything.

If the kids don't get it, even starting as young as 14, then they don't play. There is too much emphasis of winning put at too young of an age. If your best player is behaving in an unapproved manner, which will be spelled out to the parents and kids before the season starts, then he is done playing no matter how good he is. Make the parents understand and tell them what their part in the whole thing is.

You shouldn't have to do this but just sit and watch any upper league sport and pay attention to the fans and coaches. If the coach is bitching and moaning on every call he isn't the guy to be leading your kids when a calm demeanor is needed. Sit and listen to the parents in the crowd demean other kids with comments like "Timmy is way better than that kid, why is he playing ahead of my kid".

As I stated earlier my son played high level basketball and the constant bitching by parents was embarrassing. It got so bad that we contacted the UofC, MRU and Sait coaches to come do evalutations at try outs and they picked the team. So many parents were pissed off when their kids didn't make the team and made comments "Well I have volunteered with the organization for years". The coaches finally told the parents that their kids weren't good enough and probably the only reason they were playing was because of parental interference. Tough pill to swallow.
