Just going on the simplest thing,

Right now, the Oilers are rated at 7579333 over the cap, if you account for Smith (2,200,000) and Klefbom (4,167,000) total 6,367,000

So they're showing at $1,212,333 over

So they wouldn't have to really waive both Janmark and Ryan, they could wave one go with 11 forwards, and 8 defensemen currently showing and be cap compliant.

But the smarter move would be to send down someone like Boberg and Ryan.

Go with 12 forwards and 8 defensemen and pray for no injuries.

But capology ain't my strong suite.

Man for a team that's over the cap, I wouldn't feel great about who's on the cap.
