The posters that think he's finished before he was even given a shot are the same posters who would have been negative about Johnny making it in the NHL. And no, I'm not saying their talent is comparable, but Phillips has some grit that Johnny lacks to make up for it. I hope he is dominant enough in the AHL that he forces a call-up. Either that, or a team claims him and he becomes the next player that got away. I'm not saying I believe he will definitely succeed in the NHL, but I would not be surprised if he did.

Agreed, I am of the same opinion. Maybe put him in a situation where it is his to lose. Who knows maybe Jonathan, and Elas would be excellent guys to complement and bring along a guy like Phillips. Hopeful he will get an opportunity at some point. Sutter is big on experience which doesn't do Phillips any favors.
