Ebay Sniping
Wow, I can't slow down my heartrate right now, it's going crazy. Does anybody else get an insane adrenaline rush at the countdown to the end of an ebay auction?
My heartrate is going crazy, my cheeks are flush, my body is getting ready to fight or flight, all because of a dumb mouse click that I have to time exactly with 5 seconds left in the auction (or face massive disappointment and regret) to register my crushing bid?
Does anybody else get a perverse pleasure out of ebay sniping? And then looking at your dashed and helpless foes (checking auction history for the other bidders as they tried to cope, but couldn't with only 5 seconds or less left to counter-bid?). Of course, most of the time, you, yourself are the only true loser as you might overpaid for something but wow, it's a wierd adrenaline pumping feeling. It was 10 minutes ago and my heartrate is still up. I don't think it's anything they could replicate in a real life auction because ebay sniping is actually more like ambushing somebody...and lying in wait to pounce. What a rush!
Of course, I absolutely can't stand it when I'm sniped myself so I gave up bidding on any auctions any earlier than 10 seconds before the end of the auction. There are few feelings worse than watching your high bid just disappear on a single refresh at the end of an auction when you expected the winning bidder message but instead recieve the "you have been outbid" message. Sorry, that was a bit of a rant, must be all the blood rushing to my head with nowhere to go. I heard that there are auction tools or applications that do all this hard work for you, is this true?
