So true. I think the "south traffic sucks" reputation is about 20 years old and has never been updated. Deerfoot by Glenmore and just south at the Anderson/Bow Bottom exits do still back up. No doubt. Those congestion spots are next up on Deerfoot upgrades though. Stony in the south and even MacLeod south of Anderson have made south traveling really smooth.

I'm a southerner so definitely biased. Not on anyone's list, and maybe not perfect given the constraints in the OP, but Diamond Cove is the answer. It's like Airdrie in that you can get anywhere in 15-20 minutes. Except, it's actually true.
