You've nailed it. Boomer's big strength was keeping the show engaging to the listener. It's the constant banter he injects into the conversation, both when he's interviewing a guest, as well as when he's talking with his morning partners.
It's why the quality dips whenever he's on vacation. You can tell that Pinder being the more stats nerd, he's not able to carry the show as well as Boomer either IMO. And the newer guys are even more green at it. I guess this is both a natural skill as well as something maybe you can develop. I'm hoping the new host also has this ability.
