Also, re: Phillips' AHL numbers being pedestrian ... he was the top-scoring U24 player in the league last season. All the guys ahead of him were in their late 20s, whereas he was 23 throughout the regular season and turned 24 at the start of the playoffs. What's been pedestrian have been his showings in past camps. He's never been able to distance himself from the pack in the slightest.

Respectfully, U24 scoring is category you made up because you like Phillips. He is draft plus 6 years? 24, 26, he might as well be 28. A kid d+1 or +2 with 40 or 60 points is waaay more interesting.
That said there is a late bloomer every year or 2 and if ever anyone was a candidate it’s a tiny kid cutting his teeth as a pro during a pandemic.
