Looks like they've had about 40ish different band members over the year, and only about 5 of them have died that have been acknowledged.

Yikes, that’s some awful journalism there.

There are a bunch of bands like the Doobies who have had a huge list of members over many decades. John was a founding member, although he played off and on in later years, so his passing is worth mentioning, even if it took a year.
