On the flip side of the argument - when in history has $1.38-$1.43 not been a disastrously high price to pay for fuel. Sure, it appears reasonable beside the recent prices closing in on $2, but add another 4.5 cents and we're coming up on $1.50 again.
That's a catastrophic fuel price for a lot of low income families, still.
