A couple of points here... it's MTV. Even when we were kids, did they have anything good on? Secondly, one of the biggest problems with the consumerist society we live in today is that it's the tween and teenaged young female that buys a lot of disposable crap. When you buy disposable crap, you just have to keep buying and disposing it. That has translated into almost every facet of North American society today. They emulate the queens of disposable, Paris and Britney and whoever, and they keep buying and disposing. So you end up with tv that they'll watch because that's where advertisers want to put their money. It's a self-feeding cycle. Or that's the theory anyways.
