The deal is intriguing. That said, I thought Hanifin probably took as big of a step as Kylington did last year. Another year under Sutter, and some different looks offensively could just make him into a #1D. The only uncertainty I have about Hanifin is that he’s an American player, and his best buddy on the team(Chucky) just left. That’s a deal I might explore closer to the deadline, but Toronto has too many LD anyways.
I would personally explore a Zadorov trade before I would trade any of the top 6D. Out of the top 6, he provides the least bang for the buck. I think the cap crunch next season will pretty much force the issue, and he will be traded for a pick next summer.
