My father-in-law's Dad fought in both great wars, I wonder if he spent any time there. His life is shrouded in mystery as he died when my father in law was 8 or 9. Amazing stuff, I have so much respect for those who fought. I was in Pearl Harbor a week ago and visited all the sites. Can't believe paradise was the site to so much destruction.
One day I will definitely visit Vimy, hopefully with my son in tow. I will tell him all about my grandfather's war stories (he was a pilot in WW2, bombed U boats) We need to teach our kids about what happened in the past so we can hopefully learn from it.
