So you'd move a 25-year-old, top-pairing NHL defenceman who just scored 48 points, to make room for a 23-year-old third-pairing defenceman who once got 32 points in the AHL? All righty then.

He's a 23 year old who is Chris Pronger sized, physical, defensively responsible, and has offense that hasn't been tapped. On a Darryl Sutter-coached team, there's a huge possibility that he sees his potential.
I said I would consider moving him for Hanifin. Hanifin was a 48 point defenseman last year, but he likely won't be this year. He'll probably go back to playing with Tanev, and getting 30-35 points. If Sutter got his hands on this kid, he would be terrifying!
