First, I noticed the writing in the faceoff circle and didn't recall the Corral ever having "The Corral" written in the circle. Then, I looked closer and realized it didn't say "Corral". Also, the Flames always had a big Flaming C at centre ice and not two logos on either side of the red line. Initially, I couldn't figure out which logo it was, but then I noticed the Kings player and it all clicked that the words on the ice were "The Forum" and it was the crown logo.

It also then clicked that it was the early 80s and the red uniforms were worn on the road at that time.

Then, I searched for video for the 1982 Kings to confirm that's what the centre face off circle looked like at the Forum at the time. I searched for 1982 because I figured the best chance to find video from that era was to find something about the Miracle on Manchester. As luck would have it, one of the video results was of Steve Bozek talking about the Miracle on Manchester, so that clued me in that Bozek started his career in LA. So, I checked to see when he joined the Flames.

I also noticed that Hindmarch was in the photo and I remembered his career was cut short due to injury, so I checked to see when he played his last game. Once I saw that he only played 29 games that season, I knew the time frame was very narrow, so I checked the Flames schedule for the first few months of that season and saw that they only played one game in LA prior to Hindmarch's injury.
