Count me in the group that's glad to see Ball/Hrudey/Leslie back again. It's true that they make good amount of friendly banter and jokes between one another during the play, but that's what I love about them; I can see what's going on the screen. Adding personality to the telecast with genuine friendliness and chemistry makes them a pleasure to listen too. It's not over done, and they're good at calling the game and making insightful comments related to it most of the time.
And who knows, this might be the trend for future play-by-play teams in sports. Monday Night Football's Peyton & Eli broadcast indicates that there is a demand for more casual commenting of the game itself. And there's plenty of youtubers who have an audience in discussion current events in sports due to their personality.
It's really hard to find a duo that's much better. They honestly could be national level, and it wouldn't feel out of place I think.
