This is exactly what I'm looking for, but it's only on Home Depot US website. We're doing a fairy princess closet for one of my girls and apparently, the rods HAVE to be gold (brass OK too).

Wow... wtf. When locally available brick and mortar stores that have something that seems like the best value is West Elm and Pottery Barn, you know the world has gone crazy.

($140-180, but all the components are there and it seems like an upgraded type of rod rather than a pure basic one that are supposed to be available at around $60-90)

($130-200, but again upgraded)

Do you think attempting to adapt a curtain rod rather than keep searching for a closet rod might work as well? I think the weight limits are about the same. At those prices, I also almost wonder if putting a dowel into hollow brass or copper tubing and then polishing up the copper would also be a nice looking, functional and reasonably priced option in comparison to those.
