Schools closed including post-secondary, and crown corporations as well. BC is encouraging the private sector to recognize the day, but as a public holiday if a private company treats Monday as business as usual, they just pay employees their regular wage.

Man. Next Monday will be my busiest work day of the year (100% by coincidence). Not an ideal day for me to have my kids at home with me.
