What's funny is the people who love prospects, drafts and pedigree probably loved the hanifin acquisition. Funnier still, he has fulfilled his potential and has taken massive steps the last 2 years into a still developing top pairing dman... And the lovers of prospects, drafts and pedigree want to trade him for a new one.
Hanifin is good. I like hanifin.

I like Hanifin too. My preference would be to keep him and go into the season with a stacked defense for now.
I'm just playing the "what if" game. If the Flames were to trade a defenseman, I think he is probably the one just because he would attract a lot of teams and would get a good return. Of the defenseman with good value, he is probably more expendable.
Tavev - His unique talents and leadership make him almost untouchable.
Weegar - Could possibly be the team's best defenseman and can play on the right side. New addition and unlikely to be traded.
Andersson - Maybe the closest to Hanifin, but I just like him better personally and he plays the right side.
Zadorov - Newly resigned and probably limited trade value.
Kylington - Probably has decent trade value, but not as much as Hanifin.
I am definitely not itching to trade Hanifin, but if it had to be someone and you drew a Venn diagram for trade value vs. tradability, he is probably the one the has the most area in the optimal middle ground.
