It makes sense for the benefits you mentioned but the biggest negative is that the vehicle is stuck at the campsite unless you pack up. For me that is a no-go because when we go camping we are usually going out and seeing different things and not just sitting around the campsite/campground. I would not want to arrive and set it up, sleep the night, pack up the next morning and do our thing only to have to set up again when we get back.
