the guy that hired us to come play had booked around 40 sites and it was a wild party.
what got me was they didn't book the entire camp - so all these other campers would have been up just as late as everyone at the party. to the organizer's credit, he did go around to all the other sites earlier in the day and gave them a heads up about what would be happening and invited them to join us for a night of partying (and lots did join in), but the one thought that went thru my mind was that if i had booked a spot there, it would be as an escape from everything to unwind (no cell or wifi service at all) and wouldn't be pleased with the noise.
oh and then, once we were done around 11, these guys had other speakers already setup at one of the sites and continued cranking out tunes... not as loud as our show, but still waaaaay too loud for 11pm
the pot smoke - holy - it was bad - and endless!
dogs - there were TONS of dogs there (i had been sharing Sliver stories with the guitarist as we drove to the site). my biggest takeaway with all the dogs was that the big dogs were fine.... walking everywhere and getting pats on the head. it was all the little yappy lap rats that were rather annoying - they just endlessly bark - little dog syndrome i guess?

Jesus, this is about the most asshat-ish thing I've read about in this thread in a long time. (Not directed at you bcchris).
"Oh, hey BTW, we're going to be throwing an obnoxious party in a public campground and ignoring all noise rules, but, hey, you're invited so it's ok right?"
