In an east facing room where I spend most of my day at home, as soon as the sun begins to set I throw a fan into the window sill. Usually within 30 mins it starts feeling a bit cooler in the room and by the time I'm ready for bed (like 4-5 am) the room temperature is anywhere from 17-22 degrees. Perfect for sleeping.

Of course last night because of the smoke I had the fan in the window sill for no more then 10 mins before I had to remove it. The room never did get under 27 degrees. At 4 am the temperature outside was still 24. Guessing the smoke is trapping the heat and that's why it was so warm out at that time?
