I can’t speak for everyone, however I think “most” are upset because he strung the flames along, countered their offer and then when the Flames ownership group agreed to it, he ghosted them and decided to test free agency anyway.
The fact his camp contacted Columbus (lol?) just makes it so much worse.
Had he been honest from the start I wouldn’t hold any grudge/judgement myself, but when he lied and acted the way he did above he lost my respect.
