Is it the market was waiting to see where Kadri would sign so they could move on? If so o don’t see how that relates to the nucks signing their own player to an extension given they weren’t in on Kadri and the flames couldn’t have been the only team interested in Miller?

It set the market price.
Also a lot of teams were in on him, and had other signings left by the wayside until it was handled. Now things are full swing again.
