Justin Dunk was on 960 his morning and he talked about how Michael O'Connor was best suited to take over at QB versus trying to plug in a CFL re-tread. With BC's receiving corps he might be able to keep the Lions treading water, but that's a pretty big drop-off IMO. Also said that while Rourke might be able to return at the end of the year, he'll have bigger plans going forward and therefore shouldn't rush back and potentially jeopardize his NFL opportunities.
There was also discussion about how the Stamps should go back to Mitchell on a short week, in Winnipeg. I'm inclined to agree -- I don't think the stage will necessarily be too big for Maier but Dunk made a good point: if you start Maier now you probably need to give him at least a few games. I'd rather do that with the Edmonton back-to-back starting on Labour Day. It also gives Mitchell one (last?) chance to pick up his game, because he now knows that he's going to get the hook if he continues to struggle.
