I think it is fair to have doubts about the term of the contract. But I think, at worst, Kadri will be an overpaid Backlund type player - maybe a 3rd line centre who is able to play shut down hockey. Lucic and Kadri don’t have any similarities other than your perception that he’ll eventually be overpaid. Even your comparison to Neal was closer and it was still a million miles away.
Kadri is an older version of a Tkachuk type player but with more grit, more defense, and more speed. Plus he’s a centre. Do I think we’ll love the last couple of years on the deal? Not really. I actually don’t think Florida is going to like the last few years of the deal for Tkachuk either and he’s a lot younger.
